Our Reminder in the Holly Leaf

This advent activity on day 13 was all about the holly leaf. The kids sat down and listened to Daddy for a few minutes talk about what the holly leaves we see at Christmas time represent and remind us of.
This picture below cracks me up, he was talking seriously but it kind of made for a funny picture of him holding his head like that! Peter was telling the kids about the crown of thorns that Jesus wore and how it was sharp like the holly leaves and about the red berries representing the blood He shed for us, how the sacrifice that we celebrate at Easter is actually the completion of the story that starts at Christmas when we celebrate Christ's birth.
Afterwards we made some paper holly ornaments and the kids rolled some little red tissue squares for the berries and we hung them on our tree.
They turned out pretty cute!
